Lester Building Systems has an exciting Experienced Maintenance Mechanic opportunity at our Lester Prairie facility.


The Experienced Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive and productive maintenance processes to support Lester Building's goals and objectives.  


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining periodic maintenance schedules for critical production machines.  



  • Two year technical degree or equivalent experience in a maintenance position.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years maintenance experience; building manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with MS office products.
  • Willingness to help out in production as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime, early mornings, evenings and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the lead on necssary maintenance tasks. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • DOT physical required.
  • Commercial driver’s license a plus.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent stooping, bending and standing.
