    Lester Buildings, a leader in post-frame (pole barn) construction has an exciting full-time Manufacturing Slitter Operator position in Charleston plant. We are a safety conscious, quality-minded, team oriented company.

     

    This position is responsible and accountable for the efficient and effective operation of the trim slitter.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Works safely and ensures that other employees are aware of safety standards.
    • Oversees the safe and efficient operation of the coil slitter.
    • Oversees the tracking of raw material as it is consumed.
    • Verify quantities of parts produced/scrapped.
    • Quality Audits.
    • Aid in cycle counts throughout the trim department.
    • Aids in continuous improvement activities as assigned.
    • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the operation.

    Qualifications

    • 2 years of work related experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong self-starter.
    • Strong math skills.
    • Ability to read a tape measure.
    • Good computer skills.
    • An eye for detail with the ability to speak up when we fall short of perfection.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Previous experience with an ERP system.  Epicor experience is a plus.
    • Previous Warehouse Inventory Management knowledge is a plus.
